Weakley County, TN: Captain Terry McDade with the Weakly County Sheriff’s office was made aware of an animal neglect case, after concerned neighbors started calling the police, demanding for a check-up at a nearby property.
Captain Terry McDade went on the property in a total of three times, during the course of which he failed to take any action whatsoever. On his first two visits, he noticed two skinny dogs that had their ribs sticking out that had been left outside in freezing temperatures. His assessment, as he told the local news, was that the dogs were definitely not well looked after and needed immediate help. Yet he failed to alerted Animal Control to rescue the abused animals.
McDade instead paid another visit to the house and got in touch with the homeowners, who told him that two puppies had died after being left outside in the cold.
McDade later claimed he never saw the two puppies. Perhaps had he called Animal Control, the authority responsible of tacking cases involving cruelty to animals in the county, the puppies would still be alive today!
The heartless dog owners – Amber Davidson and Joshua Dailey – were booked and charged and are due in court soon.
It is our view that captain McDade is just as guilty as the dog
owners. We, the undersigned, strongly believe McDade was sloppy and
irresponsible. He paid two initial visits to the home and did absolutely
nothing but write a useless report about what was going on. Had he taken prompt
action, maybe the two pooches would still be alive today.
In the light of captain McDade’s staggering lack of compassion and professionalism, we, the undersigned, hereto call for an immediate contract termination and an indefinite suspension from the force against captain Terry McDade.
