Justice for the 50 dogs poisoned and burned alive!

This appalling incident took place at Keezhamur village near Melmaruvathur, about 30 miles from Chennai, India. Angry at these pesky animals, villagers decided to take matters into their own hands and disposed of the animals in the most ruthless way possible. Please take action to ensure these heartless people will be held accountable for this inhumanity!

It all started when villagers discovered that their herds of sheep and goat has been allegedly attacked. They were quick to blame the stray dogs in the village and decided to get back at them. The dogs were sedated with food laced with poison and later doused in gasoline and set on fire. All while they were still alive. Satisfied villagers stood and watch as they got their sweet revenge.

The incident only came to light after an outraged villager informed P. Aswath, a well known Indian animal advocate, about the situation and asked for help. Aswath personally visited the village and talked to the people involved. Their story: the dogs were a menace because they attacked their sheep and goat. However, villagers did not provide any evidence to support their claims, which led Aswath to believe this was nothing more than a personal vendetta against the dogs. 50 of them.

The scene was simply a mess. The lifeless bodies were sitting around the village, half burnt, it was a shocking image to witness. I had to collect their bodies and burn them fully Aswath stated.

 I have all the evidence that proves the villagers did this Aswath concluded.

The Melmaruvathur police initially supported the version of the villagers, but now seems to have come to their senses and have accepted the complaint filed against the perpetrators.

However, due to lack of proper laws and lack of consistency from police officials, we need to keep up the pressure and ensure this investigation continues and all the culprits are brought to justice. What they did is simply outrageous and there is no punishment in the world that could make up for the tremendous suffering of those innocent dogs.
