Are you aware that 100k dogs are cooked each year on the Island Of Gods?

It is known as the Island of Gods – ironically, because man’s best friend and one of God’s creatures receives one of the worst treatments there can be on Earth. The place anything ungodly, if my choice of words is allowed.

Exclusive: Punish thugs that cut dog’s ears off and posed for photos!

Bali boasts beautiful, exclusive beaches, with white sands and gorgeous waters. It is a coveted destination for many tourists worldwide. Most of them however do not know the island’s dark secret: a very powerful appetite for dogs.

Estimates indicate that as many as 100, 000 dogs are cooked and served in numerous dog snack warungs (cafes) across the island. According to the Daily Mail, they are sold as chicken meat to tourists who don’t suspect even the slightest thing.

According to the Bali Animal Welfare Association, all of the canines that are grabbed off the streets are sold to restaurants, for a fee between $1 and $3 – this is how much a dog’s life is worth on the island (outrageous!). On average, a café in Bali cooks anywhere between ½ and 7 dogs per day. 

Apart of tourists – who have no idea what they are eating – statistics also point out that most of the people that consume dogs are native Balinese or come from other parts of Indonesia (the island is actually part of Indonesia)

There have been numerous myths surrounding the dogs on the island and Bali Animal Welfare Association has tried to debunk some of them. Authorities claim that the dogs represent a major threat for tourists due to their aggressive nature. The fact is that the dogs are not actually aggressive by nature, it’s just that they are not used to direct contact with humans and therefore are a bit reluctant to interact with people. Authorities have also claimed that dogs need to be euthanized because there is no chance they can be tamed and transformed into pets. The fact is that dogs are highly intelligent creatures, capable of learning appropriate behavior and how to properly interact with humans. 

Authorities have always chosen the easy way out and have ordered numerous euthanasia campaigns and have allowed traders to have their way. No constructive and humane approach to this issue has been taken thus far, which is an absolute disgrace.

Please sign the petition now and demand a complete ban of this industry that is flourishing in Bali. 

We, the undersigned, pledge not to visit the island of Bali until our demands are taken into account and dogs are no longer regarded as food, but as pets, and get treated with the love and respect they deserve.

Es conocida como la Isla de los Dioses, irónicamente, porque su mejor amigo y una de las criaturas de Dios recibe uno de los peores tratamientos que puede haber en la Tierra. El lugar es algo impío, si mi elección de palabras está permitida.

Bali cuenta con hermosas y exclusivas playas, con arenas blancas y hermosas aguas. Es un destino codiciado para muchos turistas en todo el mundo. Sin embargo, la mayoría de ellos no conocen el oscuro secreto de la isla: un apetito muy poderoso por los perros.

Las estimaciones indican que se cocinan y sirven hasta 100 000 perros en numerosos warungs (cafés) para aperitivos en toda la isla. Según el Daily Mail, se venden como carne de pollo a turistas que no sospechan ni la más mínima cosa.

Según la Asociación de Bienestar Animal de Bali, todos los caninos que se agarran de las calles se venden a restaurantes, por una tarifa de entre $ 1 y $ 3: esto es lo que vale la vida de un perro en la isla (¡escandaloso!). En promedio, un café en Bali cocina entre ½ y 7 perros por día.

Además de los turistas, que no tienen idea de lo que comen, las estadísticas también señalan que la mayoría de las personas que consumen perros son balineses nativos o provienen de otras partes de Indonesia (la isla es en realidad parte de Indonesia) 

Ha habido numerosos mitos que rodean a los perros en la isla y la Asociación de Bienestar Animal de Bali ha tratado de desacreditar a algunos de ellos. Las autoridades afirman que los perros representan una gran amenaza para los turistas debido a su naturaleza agresiva. El hecho es que los perros no son realmente agresivos por naturaleza, es solo que no están acostumbrados al contacto directo con los humanos y, por lo tanto, son un poco reacios a interactuar con las personas. Las autoridades también han afirmado que los perros deben ser sacrificados porque no hay posibilidad de que puedan ser domesticados y transformados en mascotas. El hecho es que los perros son criaturas muy inteligentes, capaces de aprender un comportamiento apropiado y cómo interactuar adecuadamente con los humanos. 

Las autoridades siempre han elegido la salida fácil y han ordenado numerosas campañas de eutanasia y han permitido que los comerciantes se salgan con la suya. Hasta el momento no se ha adoptado un enfoque constructivo y humano sobre este tema, lo cual es una vergüenza absoluta.

Firma la petición ahora y exija una prohibición completa de esta industria que está floreciendo en Bali.

Nosotros, los abajo firmantes, nos comprometemos a no visitar la isla de Bali hasta que se tengan en cuenta nuestras demandas y los perros ya no se consideren como comida, sino mascotas, y se los trate con el amor y el respeto que se merecen.
