An appalling incident unfolded on the streets of Belgrade, Serbia, where a group of heartless individuals took it upon themselves to make fun of a harmless stray dog. The photos attached to the petition are the end-result of the outrageous cruelty that unfolded in Serbia. This defenseless pooch was discovered in dreadful condition, at the corner of King Alexander Boulevard no. 488 in one chilly Belgrade morning.
Witnesses recalled on social media that three men (who presumably
had too much to drink) ran across the stray dog and decided to mess with him
out of no reason. They proceeded to tie up the gentle creature to a pole and
put a pack of firecrackers in his mouth. They stood there and laughed as the
fireworks went off, then vanished into thin air. None of the witnesses intervened,
out of fear of retaliation, but they did call animal rescuers and local police.
The dog, dubbed Rambo, was rushed to a veterinary clinic with blood
dripping from all his mouth. The firecrackers also damaged his internal organs,
leaving Rambo fighting for his life. Vets tried a shock therapy, but without any
result. Despite vets’ best efforts, Rambo’s body was simply too fragile to
resist and the dog died in tremendous suffering a few hours later.
Such acts of cruelty towards innocent animals cannot be condoned
under any circumstances. The monsters behind this cowardly, outrageous attack
need to be apprehended as soon as possible and be made accountable for all the
pain provoked to this innocent dog – a creature that did not deserve any of
this. I cannot even start to imagine what poor Rambo had to endure before passing
to a better place, where there is no suffering.
We, the undersigned, demand an immediate investigation into this
matter and hope justice will be achieved. This terrible incident occurred on
one of Belgrade’s most important boulevards, there are numerous buildings with
surveillance camers, which should be the starting point of this investigation.
Help make sure that the actions of these men do not go unpunished!
