German Shepherd dog chained to a wall and left to die gets no justice!

Heyvan Azadlığı published this shocking photo on his Facebook profile. According to his statement, the incident took place in Pirşağı, a city close to Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital.

A helpless German Shepherd was attacked out of the blue in the most inhumane way. He was hit repeteadly and later chained to a wall and hung there. As he was abandoned on the site, he bled his life out. The animal tried to set him himself free, but was powerless in removing the thick chain tighly wrapped around his neck. Only that sweet angel knows how much he suffered during his last moments on Earth.

The German Shepherd type dog was no longer alive upon being discovered. All rescuers could do is snap a photo of his condition and post it to Facebook, demanding justice.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that in Azerbaijan there are no animal welfare laws in place, nothing will be done to ensure the perpetrators of this vicious act will be brought to justice. In other words, no one will be punished for these absolutely terrible actions. It has become a custom for police to dismiss such cases because there is simply no legal basis on which an investigation could be initiated.

Animal cruelty is a widespread phenomenon in the country. Authorities have initiated numerous campaigns to mass poison stray dogs. Countless people are mistreating and neglecting their pets each day, yet no one is ever held accountable.

The situation of animals in Azerbaijan is desperate and the need for animal welfare laws has never been felt much stronger.
