Justice For Tiger – cruel people stuff fireworks in his mouth and set them off!

A protest organized by two unions in the municipality of Godoy Cruz, Mendoza province, Argentina ended tragically, as a dog was severely wounded after firecrackers were set off in his mouth.

The victim, called Tiger, is a 7-year-old dog that was immediately rushed to the hospital. Veterinarian Fabian Arnaez describes the dog’s condition:

He has a broken jaw and significant damage of his soft tissues, including lips, gums and tongue. It is possible we will have to perform more than one surgery. The dog is now in stable condition, but we have to wait for the initial injuries to pass in order to verify whether brain damage has occurred.

The dog has received numerous blood tranfusions and remains hospitalized in intensive care in an animal clinic located on Parana Street.

According to the local authorities, the protest of the union had received authorization, however the use of fireworks was strictly forbidden. A cruel, heartless individual thought it would be entertaining to light up a firework in this dog’s mouth.

Marianela is the head of the Volunteers of the dogs of Independence Square animal rights group, which is in charge of helping stray dogs by getting them off the streets, providing them with food, water and medical attention and rehoming them. She remembers when she first rescued Tiger almost four years ago, the dog was extremely emaciated and uhappy. Although Tiger passed through an adoptive house, he soon returned on the streets. Marianela announced she will be hosting a rally in support for Tiger this week-end.

Please support my petition and demand justice for Tiger. The people responsible for this cruel and senseless attack (most likely, members of the two unioms that marched on the streets of Godoy Cruz that day) are brought to justice and prosecuted for their actions. There is simply no excuse for what they did to this stray dog.
