Villahermosa, Mexico: A complaint made by a concerned citizen this week illustrates yet another shocking case of animal mistreatmeant.
The witness managed to film the incident via mobile phone and sent it to the animal welfare organization ‘unamejorvida.ac’ that published it on their Facebook page. The footage, extremely difficult to watch, shows a woman dressed in blue holding her pet dog by an ear and hitting the defenseless animal on and on with a huge stick as the pet howls in distress.
In just a matter of hours, the footage spread around like crazy all
over social media. Here are just a few of the comments posted in the video
thread:
It’s a struggle between good and evil, just please, mercy and compassion for these living creatures. Locate the woman and protest outside her house! Mary Tere Garcia Leon wrote
There is no cause to justify this mistreatment, take the puppy away right now – Carlos Mario Salazar Torres.
Although the woman’s face cannot be seen, netizens managed to track
down the place where she lives. She resides in the city of Villahermosa, in
Tabasco state, Mexico in a neighborhood called Serra Etasta
The exact address can be seen via Maps at this link:

(If you are in the area, please feel free to pay her a visit and let her have a piece of your mind)
Desperate protesters stormed the place and demanded an explanation.
The woman stated that she only hit the dog a couple of times because he had his
tail stuck in the chain. She claimed that she took the dog to the Juan Jose Iglesias veterinary facility
(information that proved to be true). The dog was left with a broken tail that,
most likely, will need to be amputated.
Rescuers managed to take a photo of the dog. He’s scared stiff and clearly wants to get out of his owner’s hands. (to see the photo of the dog, scroll down the petition page)
Rescuers tried to take the dog away, but the owner’s son firmly refused.
At this point, there is no legal requirement for the owner to surrender the dog.
That heartless woman needs to be charged and the dog has to be taken
away as soon as possible. The state of Tabasco has adopted the Law for
Protection and Care of Animals in 2012. We, the undersigned, want to see the
law applied to its fullest and demand justice for this severely abused pet!
