Join my appeal to urge French luxury fashion company Yves Saint
Laurent to ditch fur and go cruelty-free. Take action now and take the pledge
not to buy their overpriced and distasteful products until they become a
responsible and humane company!
Fur is back in trend and more and more high-end companies have
reintroduced animal suffering in their fashion catalogues. Among them, well
known Paris-based company Yves Saint Laurent.
If you browse through the company’s website as well as other online
fashion stores, you will find a wide rage of fur items – anything from
outrageously appalling fur pelts to fur bags and even shoes. The cheaper ones
start at a whopping $1, 500 while the most expensive items can reach as much as
$3, 000.
The company is manufacturing its fur produts in China, where there
are no animal protection laws (convenient, right?).
Footage filmed by undercover investigators throughout the years have
shown the complete disregard for animal welfare exhibited by workers in these
so-called fur-farms. Animals are left day and night in tiny cages with
basically no food and water and are ultimately skinned alive in the name of
fashion. They are later discarded as trash.
Fur items are bought by ignorant and heartless people from all over
the world, in an attempt to impress friends, boast about their financial prowess
or be fashionable. Fur only looks good on animals, so people wearing such
garments will never be in trend!
Please ask Yves Saint Laurent to put an end to this inhumanity for
greed and money.
Armani – the celebrity Italian designer – has recently announced
plans to eliminate fur from all collections. Yves Saint Laurent should follow
suit and prove it can be a leader and trendsetter in the fashion domain.
Stop the suffering of thousands of animals for fur garments! Those
animals deserve better!
