Dear concerned readers,
I must confess I can’t and will never understand fashion! Major brands have recently announced that fur is gaining the international spotlight yet again and will be included in every autumn / winter collection for the upcoming years.
Louis Vuitton, one of the most luxurious fashion brands, will make no exception. While those handbags might look appealing for purchase, most people are ignorant and have no idea how they are made. Louis Vuitton gets its fur mainly from Chinese fur farms – highly unregulated facilities where animals are forced to endure never-ending and unspeakable suffering. Animals are bred in tiny cages, without food and water; they are hit in the head with bats, chocked or squashed, before having their fur removed off heir bodies while still conscious. When no longer needed, they are tossed in the trash and left to perish in agony. Sometimes their lifeless bodies are simply left in the open air and, according to undercover activists, the smell of decay is just unbearable. These facts have been thoroughly documented with undercover videos – this is hardly a science-fiction story, but the unsettling reality behind the so-called fur farms in China.
No fashion item in this world is worth this pain and suffering! Only animals look good with their skin!
The story of these animals – who have endured a lifetime of misery – is quite opposite of the ones of the affluent people that buy LV products. The cheapest luxury fur handbags made by Louis Vuitton have a starting price of $1, 000 USD.
It is absolutely heartbreaking to learn that companies like Louis Vuitton have no respect for life whatsoever. Please ask LV to stop all animal suffering and halt the production of luxury items made from fur as soon as possible. There are plenty of cruel-free alternatives out there and we demand Louis Vuitton starts using such materials.
