Countless dogs stuffed in bags and sold to restaurants for food – will you take action?

We need your help to denounce this awful industry in Indonesia and demand immediate measures to stem it. Please take action and help offer the dogs of Indonesia a chance to a normal and decent life!

This particular photo was taken in the municipality of Tangerang; two dogs had been stuffed in thick, plastic bags and hung from a bicycle, as the trader was cycling around town, heading towards a restaurant where he could sell the dogs for their meat. One compassionate citizen approached the trader and offered the money to purchase the dogs himself. The seller immediately agreed; the kind man then adopted both pooches and took them back home, in the United States, where they have found a lovely and forever home.

Sadly, thousands of dogs from Indonesia do not have this opportunity. In spite of promises from the central authorities, the dog meat is still active and thriving. Traders are able to operate in broad daylight, without major hurdles. Faced with such an impossible situation, the dogs have little chance of making out alive.

We, the undersigned, are deeply disappointed that the dog meat trade is still allowed in Indonesia. We hereto call upon the authorities to dedicate as many resources as possible into fighting this industry and provide hope for these dogs, because they surely deserve better!

We pledge not to visit Indonesia or the beautiful island of Bali unless our demands are met in a timely manner.

Necesitamos tu ayuda para denunciar el comercio de carne de perro vicioso en Indonesia y exigir medidas inmediatas para detenerlo. ¡Por favor, tome medidas y ayude a ofrecer a los perros de Indonesia la oportunidad de una vida normal y decente!

Esta foto en particular fue tomada en el municipio de Tangerang; Dos perros habían sido metidos en bolsas gruesas, plásticas y colgados de una bicicleta, mientras el comerciante recorría la ciudad en dirección a un restaurante donde podía vender los perros por su carne. Un ciudadano compasivo se acercó al comerciante y le ofreció el dinero para comprar los perros él mismo. El vendedor aceptó de inmediato; El amable hombre adoptó a ambos perros y se los llevó a casa, en los Estados Unidos, donde encontraron un hogar encantador y para siempre.

Lamentablemente, miles de perros de Indonesia no tienen esta oportunidad. A pesar de las promesas de las autoridades centrales, la carne de perro sigue activa y próspera. Los comerciantes pueden operar a plena luz del día, sin mayores obstáculos. Ante una situación tan imposible, los perros tienen pocas posibilidades de salir vivos.

Nosotros, los abajo firmantes, estamos profundamente decepcionados de que el comercio de carne de perro todavía esté permitido en Indonesia. Por ello, pedimos a las autoridades que dediquen tantos recursos como sea posible para luchar contra esta industria y brindar esperanza a estos perros, ¡porque seguramente merecen algo mejor!

Nos comprometemos a no visitar Indonesia o la hermosa isla de Bali a menos que nuestras demandas se cumplan de manera oportuna.
