The video attached to this petition is currently being shared on
social media. I find it downright shocking and inhumane and words fail me in
trying to describe the person capable of carrying out such a vicious act.
This sub-human monster was caught on camera viciously hitting a dog
several times, as the helpless animal cries in despair, begging for mercy. The
pooch is kicked several times, before being smashed against the truck. He has
no was of escaping. Meanwhile, laughing and giggling can be heard in the
background. This man’s colleagues are enjoying themselves big time, it seems.
After a few minutes, the attacker seemed to have got tired of
abusing the dog; he puts it down, before kicking it yet again and pushes it
inside his pick-up truck. The ruthless attacker then jumps into the vehicle,
gathers his friends and drives off like nothing happened. This is the moment
when the video ends.
This terrible incident took place in Iran. Amid public outrage, animal welfare organizations and police tracked down the vicious attacker and placed him under arrest. When asked the reason behind this cowardly attack, the man replied that the dog had eaten all his food.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of animal welfare laws, this heartless man could not be detained and was eventually set free. According to current laws, this man did not do anything wrong, technically.
This case perfectly illustrates the need for the implementation of tougher animal welfare laws in Iran. Too many perpetrators are getting away with it and this is unacceptable. This man is a social danger and should have been strictly punished for his deeds, perhaps even banned for owning animals again. Instead, he was left off the hook.
