Increase sentences for those who abuse animals and create an abuser registry

Animal abuse is rampant. We need to speak for those who can not. Criminal sentencing for animal abuse is currently lax and not a deterrent at all. We need animal abuse to be a felony with maximum sentencing.

We also believe that the those who commit the crime of animal abuse should have to be listed on a registry similar to the sexual predator registry. This is a very serious matter. The abuse of another life, especially when they have no voice or means to defend themselves, is especially heinous. We, as civilized human beings, have an obligation to to be their voice. Please help these defenceless animals by making those who choose to harm them pay for their crimes.
