Justice for Iris – dog thrown in the trash with one eye poked out!

Carrion de Calatrava, Spain: Iris was found in a critical condition after being severely beaten, tossed in a bag and then thrown into a trash container in the municipality of Carrion de Calatrava, in the central part of Spain.

The dog was found by a man that went out to take the trash at about ten o'clock at night. He heard loud noises coming from the bag and went to investigate. When he opened the bag he found the barely alive dog and immediately called a local animal rescue group for help.

Iris was freed from the bag and was immediately taken to a veterinarian. After an inspection was made the veterinarians found out that the small breed dog had a badly broken jaw, was severely dehydrated, hypothermic and one of his eyes was poked out of its socket.

Sadly his eye had to be removed because it couldn’t be saved and now Iris only has one eye which she uses to get around. It is a little difficult for him but he will get used to it.

Iris remains in with the veterinarians and he is receiving medical care.

Veterinarians say Iris was lucky to be found. That trashcan could have been the end of him if it weren’t for the curious man who decided to investigate the noise coming from the trash bag.
