Justice for Nala – punish cruel owner that sprinkled salt in dog’s eyes until she went blind!

Nala’s case has shocked entire Spain – this harmless dog was severely abused by the owner who vowed to look after her and be true friends. It turned out to be anything but that.

Nala’s sad story begun when her first owner, Diana Pérez Gimeno, was unable to provide for her dog anymore. It was with genuine remorse in her heart that Ms. Gimeno gave Nala away and trused the dog’s wellbeing in the hands of a husband’s colleague. Nala’s problems started shortly afterwards: Nala was rushed to the vet with an eye infection; vets prescribed proper medication, but the owner chose to ignore everything. Instead of following a set of specific medication, the heartless man in charge of Nala’s destiny rubbed salt on the dog’s face in an attempt to cure her sight. This went on for several months, until Nala was brought once again to the vet, where everyone was shocked to see her state of health: because of all the salt that was sprinkled on her eyes, Nala lost her vision.

According to PACMA officials (the Spanish party that promotes animal welfare) Nala’s owner was perfectly aware of the dog’s history of allergy – all the health updates provided by Ms. Pérez appeared in the dog’s passport, for instance. She specifically told Nala’s new owner to contact her if something ever came up, but her request was blatantly ignored.

After months and months of painful and grueling treatment, vets were able to partially regain Nala’s sight. Her vision is still very much weakened, but she can get around to do the basic things.

No sentient being deserves the treatment this dog was subjected to. Nala’s case has been inexplicably delayed for years. Please support my quest for justice and demand the maximum penalty for Nala’s abuser in accordance with article 337 of the penal code of Spain – up to this point, not a single Spanish citizen has been sentenced to jail term for offenses related to cruelty to animals. It is time to make an example out of Nala’s owner!
