The recent development at the Tuscaloosa Police Department only come to show the need of a profound reform at this institution. The cat featured in the photos and in the video attached to this petition has yet to get the justice she deserve, after several months since the incident took place. In spite numerous protests, authorities are refusing to act. Jenny the cat deserves justice, please help bring it to her.
Here is Jenny's full story:
A video showing this man pounding a helpless kitten several times with was
seems to be a shoe lace went viral on social media. With the help of many
netizens, the attacker was quickly identified as Brandon White, a student of
the University of Alabama.
Thousands of angry netizens called for justice and asked the
Tuscaloosa police department to investigate and prosecute the heartless perpetrator. The
police department in question publicly stated that they are aware of the
footage and will review it in a timely manner. But in spite of intense media
pressure, no arrest has been made and, at this point, no one is aware of the
cat’s whereabouts. Several months have passed and there is still no justice
for Jenny!
The main reason behind this lack of interest in this case is because the supect’s mother is an officer
with the University of West Alabama and it seems she has been using her
influence to block any investigation. It is our firm belief that the police are
currenly stalling and waiting for the statute of limitation to run out!
Police claim that without any information about where and when the
incident took place, they are powerless to act, but at the same time, they are
not digging deeper and searching for this information. Animal rights groups
that have been pursuing justice for Jenny claim that the Tuscaloosa police has
virtually no interest in solving this case.
Tuscaloosa Police Department is the only entity with jurisdiction on
this case. If they refuse to act, justice will never be served, which is
outrageous!
Please take action now – we all need to share this extremely important petition
and make sure that an arrest and conviction takes place! Jenny deserves all the
justice in the world. Ask the Tuscaloosa Police Department to stop stalling the
investigation and begin upholding the law, as it their duty to do so.
