A shocking video showing a dog’s throat being cut open several times
has gone viral on social media. Please support this petition and demand that
the maximum penalty available by law is imposed against the perpetrators of
this sick and cowardly act.
This terrible incident unfolded in Bastrop, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana.
In the footage, one of the men can be seen approaching a chained dog. The
attacker is carrying a knife in his hand and it is not long before the man grabs
the dog’s neck and cuts it. He repeats the procedure several times. The dog is
powerless to escape and is left to perish in a pool of blood. The pain of that
helpless animal can hardly be described in words. Meanwhile, a friend records
the scene. Giggling and laughter can be heard in the background throughout the
entire time. In other words, the attackers think this was actually a fun thing.
The gruesome video was later uploaded on Snapchat. It was deleted as soon as
critics started to mount, but a copy of the footage was posted on other social
media networks such as Facebook and Pinterest.
With the help of netizens, the suspects have been identified as
Boots Stanley and Steven Sadler, both from Louisiana. They turned themselves
in, but quickly bonded out. They have been charged with class D felony of
animal abuse.
We ask for your support in this terrible case. Help ensure that the
justice system will spare no leniency against the Boots Stanley and Steven
Sadler and that the maximum penalty available by law will be applied. If found
guilty the two could face up to 10 years in jail and a $25, 000 fine. Nothing
but a stiff jail term would bring true justice for that defenseless dog, who
stood no chance in front of his attackers!
