A dog was found abandoned and injured in a ditch in Adger.
Investigators say deputies were flagged down by a woman while responding to a call around 5:30 p.m. The woman told deputies that she saw an injured dog lying on the side of a nearby road.
During the search the officers found a bloody fawn boxer in a ditch along John's Road. The dog was bleeding due to a tightly-wrapped chain around the animal's neck.
The dog had a chain tightly wrapped around its neck that the skin had grown around causing a severe cut to the dog's neck. The dog was also severely dehydrated. The deputies gave the dog water and contacted Greater Birmingham Humane Society Animal Care and Control.
The boxer is recovering at the local Humane Society and is expected to survive.
We must act now and demand a harsh penalty for the subhuman
responsible for the heinous injuries that were induced upon this poor soul!
Please sign and share the petition and ask the authorities to prosecute the
owner at the fullest extent of the law!
Justice for dog dumped on the side of the road with severe injuries!
