Justice for dog that had eyes poked out and ears cut off!

Human wickedness knows no limits, unfortunately. I am absolutely heartbroken as I am writing this petition. I am in tears and hope this cause will touch as many hearts as possible, because your full support is needed to ensure justice is served.

This terrible, terrible incident took place on the streets of Caucaia, Ceara state, Brazil. Witnesses report that a group of heartless vandals spotted a stray dog that was peacefully sitting in an alley and decided to have some fun with the poor animal. The cruel people poked both of the dog’s eyes out using a bladed object. The dog also had three broken legs and one of his ears had also been cut off. The elderly canine was then left to fend for himself in tremendous suffering.

Many people passed by, but nobody stopped to help. Fortunately, there is still hope for the human race. A kind person spotted the dog in distress and decided to help. The dog was rushed to the hospital, where vets were absolutely shocked to see the canine’s state of health. The defenseless animal is now receiving intense treatment. He is still in extremely rough shape, but hopefully, with love and care, he will be able to survive. Vets confirmed he lost sight in both eyes and his front leg was broken it three parts and had to be amputated. He will be the same dog again, unfortunately.

The rescuer, Israelina Soares Lima, posted updates about the dog’s state of health on her Facebook page. She has covered the dog’s medical bills entirely up to this point, but additional funds are needed to ensure the treatment goes on as scheduled.

The vicious people behind this despicable attack are still out there, free to harm again. It is highly unlikely they will be caught, because witnesses could not provide a clear description of the suspects. The general problem of Caucaia is a lack of interest towards the issue of stray animals. There are countless other dogs that are left on the streets that are prone to such abuse. They need to be rescued and a compelling, thorough and comprehensive plan to help all the stray dogs in the city must be drawn up. Please ask the authorities to stop the needless suffering of stray animals and help them immediately. Spay and neuter schemes must be initiated in due time and shelters need to be built to keep our precious fur babies out of harm’s way.
