Horse-drawn carriages in Rio de Janeiro are quickly becoming an important attraction in the city. What tourists do not know is the blatant mistreatment these horses are subjected to. These defenseless animals are forced to work almost all day, in the scorching heat; they receive little food and water and no proper shelter during all this time.

All the owners care is to make a quick buck, it really doesn’t matter if the well being of the animals is sacrificed.

Exclusive: Punish thugs that cut dog’s ears off and posed for photos!

One of the most popular places for horse rides is the Paqueta Island Beach. A romantic stroll for tourists means some really heavy work for the horses.

Do these animals have to be subjected to such kind of treatment? The answer is obviously no. Given the fact that owners disregard even the most basic rules of safety, animal welfare and common sense, the only humane and viable option is to ban horse-drawn carriages in Rio and send the horses to a sanctuary, where they can peacefully live their life.

Take action now and support a ban on horse-drawn carriages in Rio! This needs to happen, we must impose our demands for the sake of all those mistreatment animals that don’t have a voice!
