Jacine Jadresko has to be one of the most controversial figures in
the animal rights community at this moment. The Croatian Canadian woman has
sparked online outrage after being featured in a Channel 4 documentary (UK) in
which she admitted to going on a lion hunting trip in South Africa and eating
parts of her prey after the majestic animal had been captured. She paid $16, 000
to have the privilege of eating one of the world’s most beautiful animals, just
to show-off.
My parents were the ones that encouraged me to go on a lion hunting
trip in Africa. They told me: look, Jacine, lion hunting will most likely be
banned ten years from now. Go for it now and we will pay for it.
The Channel 4 documentary also featured Rebecca Francis, who became
famous after being blasted by comedian Ricky Gervais for posing alongside a
lifeless giraffe with a smile on her face.
Jadresko defended her hunting trips and says she has no plans of
quitting. She seems to be extremely proud of her achievements and boasts about
them on Facebook on a constant basis. The 29-year-old also uploaded photos of
herself taking a bite of her pray – with a smile on her face.
I don’t expect everyone to condone my way of life. I know some
people are against hunting and it’s fine with me – the huntress added.
Jadresko has established herself in Vancouver, British Columbia but
has stated she intends to go back to Croatia, her native land, to participate
in a hunting trip alongside a close friend.
We, the undersigned, demand that the Croatian authorities take
immediate action and ban Jacine Jadresko from entering Croatia in order to
decimate the country’s wildlife population. Taking the lives of innocent
animals simply for the thrill of it is just outrageous and unacceptable.
Jacine Jadresko must not be allowed to enter Croatia again because
too many animals would be in danger of losing their lives. Please sign to keep
this deranged woman out.
