Petition target: To outlaw the sacrificing of animals in the name of religion in Nepal.

A docile cow is mangled by bars and ropes, as cruel people tie the poor animal to a tree and start chopping it up, sparing no mercy whatsoever. This inhumane event, held each year in Nepal, is based on ancient ‘customs and traditions’. Onlookers gladly participate and can be heard laughing and cheering, as the animals give their last breath in this cruel world. Hopefully, they will go to a better place. No one seems to care about the spillage of so much innocent blood. Sometimes even children as young as seven are brought to witness this spectacle. I can only help but wonder how these kids will grow up to be, how their views on animal welfare will influence the destinity of this country.

Exclusive: Punish thugs that cut dog’s ears off and posed for photos!

Too many innocent animals have lost their lives, victims of human ignorance and greed. Local people call it tradition and have declared they have no intention of stopping. Authorities are looking the other way.

Please support my petition to prevent further loss of life. Just because something has been going on for a very long time, this does not mean it is the right thing to do. Such inhumane festival have no place in a country that looks to modernize and grow on prosperity, love and compassion.

Gadhimai Festival, the biggest animal sacrifice event held every five years Gadhimai Temple of Bariyarpur, Nepal, has been recently banned, discontinuing a tradition which dated 300 years back. The decision marked  a significant step in the quest to improve animal welfare in Nepal. However, numerous other (smaller) festivals, such as the The Deopokhari, still continue to be celebrated unabiased.

Oppose the sacrificing of innocent animals in the name of religion permanently! Help stop this inhumanity and help take this country on the right path.

Another very popular celebration is the running after a piglet who eventually is caught and chopped up, as part of a religious ritual in the northwestern part called Byasi of Bhaktapur.

The Deopokhari festival: Team of mean try to rip apart as many live goats as they can, in front of women and children.
