Deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana were called out to the city of Gonzales to investigate a dog that was potentially neglected.
Deputies went to the scene and tried to get in touch with the owner, but to no avail. Moments after, officials discovered a pooch that was tied to a post next to a wooden shed. The dog was severely malnourished, had sores all over its body and also presented signs of dry blood. Deputies could not come across any food, water or proper shelter and were deeply appalled by what they had discovered at the property.
The wounded and sick animal was rushed to the vet.
In the meantime, authorities managed to get in touch with the dog’s owner, identified as John Green. The 39-year-old wasn’t too concerned about the dog’s wellbeing; he told officials the dog was suffering from worms and was being treated by a local vet. However, reports obtained by police indicate that the dog was last treated back in October 2015; moreover, the canine had not been vaccinated accordingly.
The callous owner was therefore booked and charged, but was set free on a $1, 000 – which, in my view is a great cause of concern. Such types of actions should constitute a serious offence and I find it troubling that the bond was set at such a low level. This is certainly nothing but a slap on he wrist and we, the undersigned, cannot agree wih this decision.
We hereto demand full justice! The final verdict issued by the Louisiana justice system in this case has to be mandatory jail time. Please look at the photos below and see how much this dog suffered. The poor creature was in pain for weeks and his owner did nothing about it, although he was perfectly aware of the situation!
Support the maximum penalty against John
Green and do not let him get away with a lenient sentence!
