A tiny terrier dog known as Scamp was discovered near a wooden area
in Redcar, in the United Kingdom. The defenseless animal had been buried alive
with a nail lodged in his head. Richard Finch, 60, and Michael Heathcock, 59,
admitted to their actions and are set to be sentenced soon. Please support my
petition to ensure these monsters are handed out the maximum penalty available
under current laws and are never allowed to keep pets again.
Heathcock has pleaded guilty to putting a nail in the dog’s head
while his pal, Richard Finch, stood for watch.
John Eldwood, prosecuting on behalf of the RSPCA, stated that this
was an extremely disturbing case, adding that vets who examined Scamp said this
was their worst case of cruelty in they had ever witnessed.
Faced with the charges, the two told investigators the dog was
blind, had hearing problems and was also suffering from bad legs and felt this
was the right thing to do.
They just decided to take the dog Kirkleatham Woods. They also took
a claw hammer with them and a nail. The plan was for Mr. Heathcock to put the
nail in the dog’s head and then bury the animal, according to Eldwood.
Heathcock had owned Scamp for 16 years.
The court has heard that both Heathcock and Finch were deeply
ashamed of their actions and regret the incident.
Both culprits were granted unconditional bail until their sentence,
which has been set for March 1st at the Teesside Magistrates’ Court.
Please take action and demand that Richard Finch and Michael
Heathcock are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, in addition to
receiving a lifetime ban on owning, having custody, or being in the company of
animals in accordance with the relevant legislation.
