Do not euthanize dog that attacked burglar who was robbing his owner’s home!

A brave dog stood his ground when facing a robbery attempt. The pooch was left home alone, but did a remarkable job at keeping the thief away. The burglar must have forgotten about the canine, as he marched into the home like it was his own, shortly after picking the lock with a screw. The thief had a huge surprise when he ran into the pit bull dog, who waisted no time in attacking the lowlife who had no place being there.

But now, authorities in the municipality of Parana, Tocantins state, in Brazil have seized the pit bull pet dubbed Dezim and want to euthanize him, due to aggressive behavior.

The dog’s owner is desperately trying to get his beloved pet back, but has yet to succeed. The dog is locked in city kennels, with no visiting rights, pending a decision from a local judge.

Meanwhile, the thief that caused all this trouble was rushed to the hospital, after sustaining injuries to his face and back.  He has since bonded out of jail, and is free pending his date in court, unlike Dezim.

We, the undersigned, consider the decision to euthanize Dezim is completely wrong and must be revoked as soon as possible. This dog did nothing but to protect his owner and his turf; the burglar is the one that needs to be drastically sanctioned. The pet is a hero and should be given an award for bravery, not sentenced to euthanasia!
