The terrible moment a dog owner repeatedly hits his pet in an elevator was caught on CCTV camera.
In the video released by the RSPCA, 32-year-old Paul Barratt is seen hitting and whipping his dog, a black Labrador, in a block of flats in Salford, England.
Investigators discovered that the dog, dubbed Storm, had not been left out of the house for 17 hours. When the pooch made a mess in the elevator, his owner lost his temper and launched the unlawful and disgusting attack.
He failed to show up at Manchester magistrates court several times and now an arrest warrant has been issued on his name.
Prosecutor David McCormick describes the attack: The defendant can be seen entering the lift and kicking and pulling the dog several times. He proceeds to hit the dog and drag him by the lead.
RSPCA officials managed to rescue the dog amid the attack. The canine is now safe and has been since re-homed.
During initial interviews with the RSPCA, the suspect admitted to slapping the dog because he was making a mess inside the elevator, but claimed that he did not him him hard.
Prosecutors also claimed that after a veterinarian viewed the distressing images, he stated that violence should never be used to train dogs, but canines should rather be treated with rewards and praises.
Please take action and support the maximum penalty for this sick yob! This poor excuse of a man clearly has no compassion and understanding towards animals and clearly has no idea on how to treat his pet dog. This unlawful and outrageous behavior must be sanctioned to the fullest extent of the law.
