The New Jersey Fish and Wildlife approved the first bear
bow-and-arrow hunt in decades. The inhumane event recently unfolded in the
great state of New Jersey, with over 400 bears mercilessly shot in just a
matter of days.
Among the victims is Pedals, the bear that took the Internet by
storm. Due to a serious injury to his paws, Pedals was unable to walk on four
feet. Two years ago, Pedals was spotted marching around the northern New Jersey
neighborhood on two feet, almost human-like. Pedals would be frequently
captured on camera and was adored by the entire community.
But hunter Thomas McCreary made it his life’s mission to take out
Pedals as soon as the bear hunt was announced. The cruel hunter posted a
chilling message on Facebook (on a support page for Pedals) in which he
threatened to end the bear’s life as soon as the legal hunt came into force.
Unfortunately, it seems that the hunter stuck to his promise.
According to animal rights activists, Pedals’ passing was extremely
painful – after being hit with a bow and arrow for fame and glory.
Another legal bear hunt will take place in New Jersey in early
December.
Please take a moment and sign the petition to ensure this event is cancelled.
We owe it to Pedals to try and stop this inhumanity.
All this bear wanted was a normal and decent life. He was
unfortunate enough to become handicapped, but this did not stop him from
enjoying life. He eneded up dying in terrible pain, in the hands of a ruthless,
shameless hunter.
Please do not let more bears get hunted! Revoke the bear hunt in New
Jersey now and help save the lives of hundreds of innocent creatures.
