The heartbreaking video of a hepless pet dog being chained to a pole and left in the open skies during a cold, pouring rain has emerged outside. I cried in tears watching the poor animal bark – he probably had high hopes of being rescued shortly. Unfortunately, no one came for him. Please sign my petition so justice can be served. These cruel people should be prosecuted and this poor dog needs to be removed from their home as soon as possible.
The video is only 10 seconds long, but speaks volumes about the inhumanity that unfolded. The incident took place in the neighborhood known as Jaderlândia, in the city of Ananindeua, Brazil, in the house belonging to the pastor. The heartless priest and his family chained his dog to a pole and went inside to watch a soccer match. At one point, a cold, heavy rain kicked in, but the owners were too engaged in the match and completely forgot about the helpless dog.
A neighbor heard the animal bark continuously and went to see what happened, only to discover the gentle creature getting absolutely drenched. The miserable canine was walking around in circles, but had no way of getting to shelter, because he was chained. The neighbor tried to get in touch with the owners, but was unsuccessful. Witnesses filmed the video and uploaded it on social media, with the hope of getting justice.
The behavior exhibited by these careless owners is unacceptable. Brazil does have animal welfare laws in place and we, the undersigned, sincerely hope these mean people will be brought to justice, because no one should be above the law. Would you leave a child like that? Absolutely not! It goes the same for dogs, they are family and best friends and need to be taken care of constantly. This is pure abuse and must be punished!
Authorities need to move in and take the dog away immediately. This
is not a normal attitude towards your loyal, faithful companion.
Justice for pet dog tied to a pole in the cold rain for hours! https://t.co/WwkjR5wtpp pic.twitter.com/aOTsKtsc2j
