UPDATE: The arraingment of Michael Chedester lasted a little over 20 minutes. The attacker entered a 'non-guilty' plea, despite admitting to what he had done on social media previously. The trial will begin January 26th 2017 at 10.30 A.M. Because he is well known in the area, Chedester was not required to post bond.

Belmont County, Ohio: Emmy and Bella were two adorable dogs and it
was more than their owner could ever ask for. They were simply the perfect pets
and certainly did not deserve their cruel fate. These two gentle canines were
shot without remorse just outside St. Claisville city limits.
The cowardly perpetrator has been identified as Michael A. Chedester. The attack is even more surprising as Chedester was actually friends with the owner of the dogs. The dogs got out and went running and a man who was hunting deer saw them. Since he did not hunt any deer that day, he decided to take out the dogs instead. He kept their collars as trophy, before admitting on social media that he was the author of this cowardly act.
An update in the local news indicates that the Belmont County
authorities will press charges against the 59-year-old man (pictured on the
left). Chedester will face two charges of causing serious physical harm to a
companion animal. According to recent laws passed in the state of Ohio, these
charges carry a maximum sentence of two years imprisonment.
We, the undersigned, would like to hereby express our support for
Emmy and Bella and demand that Michael A. Chedester is prosecuted to the
fullest extent of the law. This heartless person spared no mercy against these
two defenseless dogs. We therefore request that no mercy be spared in court
either.
Support this petition by signing and sharing it and demand justice
for Emmy and Bella.
