RSPCA inspectors discovered Tazer, a five-month-old mastiff cross, in a house in Queensland, Australia last year after receiving multiple tips for concerned citizens that the dog might be neglected. To say that the pooch was neglected is a huge understatement.

Tazer was severely emaciated and had open wounds all over his body, as well as a painful skin condition. He was in tremendous suffering when RSPCA intervened; inspectors called it the worst case they had ever seen.

Exclusive: Punish thugs that cut dog’s ears off and posed for photos!

Regional Inspector Natalie Aitken said the following: Before joining the RSPCA, I was a veterinary nurse for 12 years and in my entire carreer I have not seen anything like this.

As soon as Tazer was offered some food, he ate vigorously.

Tazer was rushed to the vet immediately. Besides being nothing but skin and bones, she was suffering from a serious skin condition called Demodetic Mange, she had completely lost her hair and her body was covered in swellings. Tazer had to be put down after vets determined that her recovery period would have been too prolonged and painful.

The owners – John Bridge, 37, and Lyn Smith, 47 – pleaded guilty for breaching duty of care to an animal and told magistrates at the Mackay Magistrates’ Court that Tazer was bought after they saw an ad in the newspaper. They claim they immediately noticed her itching and phoned a vet who told them she was suffering from mange. The heartless couple stated that they were waiting for their salary before they could go to the vet and deal with the dog’s skin infection.

Despite being slapped with a ban on having other pets for five years, Magistrate Damien Dwyer allowed the couple to keep the other animals they currently own. However, RSPCA inspectors have received a mandate to check on the remaining animals at the house frequently.

Their sentencing is later in June and I set up this petition to pursue Mackay Magistrates to impose the maximum penalty available by law and spare no mercy against this evil couple. It is obvious these people have no soul and conscience and should be fully held accountable for their unacceptable behavior. Nothing other than a jail term would be a proper punishment against John Bridge and Lyn Smith. Please show your support and demand justice for Tazer!
