Help free polar bear trapped at Chinese mall so people can pose for photos!

Pizza the polar bear will be temporarily removed from the mall where she is held captive and taken to the Tianjin zoo, where she was born. Management of the Grandview shopping center explained that this decision was made due to ongoing upgrades to the mall; the aquarium will still be open during Pizza’s absence. Officials have denied to say when Pizza will be locked up in the mall again.

Pizza has been dubbed saddest polar bears in the world. This three-year-old female lives a life no animal deserves to live. She is held as a hostage, captive in a tiny enclosure at the Grandview shopping center in Guangzhou, China.

The polar bear was brought in an attempt to revamp the facility and attract as many visitors as possible. The strategy paid out as many people have flocked to get the chance to take a selfie type photo with the distressed wild animal.

In a video posted online, the sad reality behind this sick marketing prop has been uncovered. The misery in the polar bear’s eyes can be visible from a mile away. She is so sad and lonely…

Some citizens were extremely displeased about the situation and have started a movement aimed at freeing the animal and taking her back to the wild, or at least to sanctuary where she can enjoy life.

Everything about keeping a polar bear inside a shopping mall in wrong. Polar bears love to be in their natural habitat. They function properly only if they are provided with vast amount of space, so they can fulfill their physical needs – activities such as running, climbing, walking and hunting are all part of their daily routine. At the mall, they only get to sit and simply watch how they are exploited for profit.

Wildlife experts have warned against keep polar bears in captivity on countless occasions, pointing out that as soon as these majectic animals are deprived of their natural environment, they start to manifest stereotypic behavior, such as banging their heads against the wall, walking in circles and so on.

This has not stopped circus performers from China to teach polar bears to skate, play ice hockey or even sing. Now, one of nature’s most beautiful animals is forced to spend all day inside a mall so people can be entertained and amused.

Help end the suffering and urge the Grandview mall to shut down the enclosure and release the bear as soon as possible. They have achived their goal of being famous all over the world. There is no need to inflict even more suffering on that poor animal anymore!
