Victoria was brought at the Petit Bichon veterinary clinic in Campo Grande, Brazil in terrible condition. She was immediately placed under intensive care and given anti-biotics and meds to relieve the pain.
The three-month old puppy had parts of the skin missing from her back as well as a torn phalanx, after being slashed with a knife. Vets determined immediately this was definitely an intentional act.
The puppy was found in the Coophavila neighborhood; several people
living in the area have come forward to claim that two young people that have
made a habit of mistreating animals are responsible for this. One of the
attackers is underage. Witnsses claim the two stomped on the puppy countless
times, used a knife to slash her and left the dog to perish in unimaginable
pain. Victoria was also hit by a car belonging to the postal service. In spite
of intense medical care, the puppy’s small body was too weak to survive.
It was only after police investigated that the sequence of events was clear. The dog’s owner, 37-year-old Fernanda Ribeiro dos Santos, claimed the dog had managed to escape after the gate was accidentally left open. As the dog was wandering on the streets, she was hit by a postal service car. The owner claimed she found the dog with multiple injuries, but since he did not have any money for treatment, he just left the animal on the street, where Victoria was later discovered and severely abused by two teens, whose names have not been publicly released.
Show your support now and ask authorities to punish Victoria’s owner for leaving the animal to suffer on the street and the two teens responsible for this ruthless and senseless attack against a defenseless puppy.
