The footage of an elderly man abusing a tiny
puppy have gone viral on social media. Support my quest for justice and help
ensure that the perpetrator will not get away with it – please sign and share
the petition.
The video – extremely difficult to watch –
shows a man pounding a puppy with a stick several times, before booting the
helpless creature. The puppy is squealing in pain, but this does not seem to
impress the man, who continues his relentless and cowardly attack.
The video was filmed by a group of children
who were taking their dogs for a walk (one of them actually appears in the
video). None of the teenage boys presented at the scene dared to intervene and
rescue the puppy, out of fear they might get attacked themselves. But they managed
to film the video (which could prove valuable evidence in this case) and posted
it online – where it was shared virally.
The incident took place in the city of
Cajamarca, Tolima province, Colombia.
Colombia has recently adopted a new law that
protects animals – according to this new bill, animals are recognized as
sentient beings and harsh penalties for cruelty to animals have come into
force.
We, the undersigned, demand that the law is
applied to the fullest extent and this evil, merciless person is brought to
justice and held accountable for the terrible pain caused to a defenseless
puppy, that did absolutely nothing wrong and certainly did not deserve this
horrible treatment.
