The photos of a man tossing his dog into the Pacific Ocean went
viral on social media. I started this petition because I want the heartless
person behind this to be held accountable for this cruelty and the dog removed
from that house.
The disturbing incident took place at Sunset Cliffs natural park in
San Diego, California.
The photos were posted on Facebook, but the owner deleted them as
soon as negative comments started to appear. Anna Moyita, the woman who saved
the pictures and re-posted them on Facebook, claims that she knows the owner
and stated the ‘dog was doing fine’. She also added that the owner would thrown
his pet dog into the Pacific Ocean on many occasions, because the dog loved it.
However, San Diego County Animal Services is not so fond of this
type of methods of relaxation. Shelter Director Dan DeSousa is eager to speak
to the owner and perform a welfare check on the dog, adding that ‘just because
an animal appears to be enjoying something this does not make it legal’.
We, the undersigned, are deeply disturbed by the photos that emerged
on social media and express our hope that this heartless owner will be brought
to justice for endangering the life of his dog on so many occasions. Tossing
your dog into the ocean off a cliff is completely unacceptable and irresponsible,
as the animal can be seriously wounded or can easily be taken away by the ocean
current and drown. Help ensure that the owner will be held accountable for this
gross negligence!
