Your utmost support is needed to stop the authorities in Bali from continuing their massive euthanasia campaign. Please sign and share and voice your disappointment towards the policies implemented by this incompetent government!
Authorities have done nothing over the past few years to addres the issue of stray dogs. The animals have been left to reproduce like rabbits and their numbers have significantly increased. Now, they are regarded as a threat to tourism and it has been decided they must go.
Authorities have thus launched a massive euthanasia campaign in a desperate attempt to get rid of the pesky animals as soon as possible. What authorities are not taken into consideration is the fact that massive euthanasia is an extremely inefficient and inhumane matter to deal with strays. It is not cost efficient (poison can be really expensive these days) and only a temporary solution – because the pack of dogs that is put down today will be replaced by another one in just a matter of weeks.
The only proven matter to control stray overpopulation are neuter
campaigns – they are less expensive have remarkable results.
In addition, Bali has yet to initiate any massive adoption campaign or get in touch with experienced, reliable animal welfare organizations to help them in this process.
Please ask authorities to reconsider this inhumane treatment of
animals and give the strays a chance to life!
Please take a moment to look at the campaign video – it shows a beautiful Husky dog being put down in the middle of the street, as onlookers stand and do nothing. This poor fellow’s fate is shared by thousands of others.
Do not let this happen! Take a stand and ask the authorities to
choose the humane and efficient way to address this issue! Euthanasia should
not be an option!
