Some terrible scenes unfolded on the streets of Hangzhou, China. A callous man was spotted pounding a helpless dog in the head and body
with a shovel multiple times. Rather than try and help the pooch, some bystanders
preferred to record the scene; others simply preferred to stare at the man.
Some of them were even amused by the sick attack and can be heard laughing in
the background. This only comes to show there is no respect whatsoever for dogs
and other companion animals in China.
After a few moments, the dog is seen lying without moving on the
ground. He definitely did not survive. Most likely, the dog will end up being
sold to restaurants for his meat. I can’t help but wonder how many other dogs
are next for this vile trader that day…
Unfortunately, since China does not have any animal protection laws
in place, the person in the video will walk away free. Such types of incidents
are started to become more and more frequent – sometimes, they are carried out
by authorities themselves, using various pretexts – such as asking pet owners
for the animals’ papers. If they are unable to provide them on the spot, the
pets are taken away and hit with clubs until they perish.
This is just another case that perfectly demonstrates the need to
implement animal welfare laws in China.
Too many animals are suffering and nothing is being done, because there are no animal protection laws enforced. Although there have been numerous protests, authorities have yet to take action to address the animal welfare problem thus far. I strongly believe the moment for a meaningful reform has come!
Please sign and demand that Chinese officials make a change and
confer the much-needed protection laws for companion animals!
Support the petition by signing and sharing it and help put a stop to all this needless animal suffering. Animals deserve better, they have rights and it's time they received a decent treatment in China!
