A shocking video uploaded on LiveLeak illustrates the full extent of the inhumane dog meat trade in Vietnam. Four ruthless men are seen bringing a dog into the kitchen area – the dog has a collar attached to his neck, which means that he was someone’s pet. His loving owners will never get the chance to see him alive again.

The precious animal is then hung upside down, as one of the men starts pouding the defenceless creature with a bat, before grabbing a knife and slicing the animal open. They leave all the blood to drain out of the body and come back after about 30 minutes. This is when the cooking process starts. I will spare everyone the details of the operation, as one can imagine how gruesome this trade has become. The amount of pain and suffering these dogs have to put up with is unimaginable.

Exclusive: Punish thugs that cut dog’s ears off and posed for photos!

The video was filmed in Huyen, a region known as a paradise to dog meat traders. Sadly, the dog meat trade is popular all across the country, with millions of dogs cooked each year for their meat.

Dog meat is currently legal and authorities have done very little to try to stop it. An important decision was the banning of dog meat imports from Thailand. However, traders quickly went to work and found other ways to meet the gap in the demand.

The dogs in this despicable industry are either strays or stolen pets. Dog meat can be found in restaurants all over the country, in public markets or even on the side of the road, in improsived stalls.

Apart from the ethical part of the problem – the fact that dogs are man’s best friends and God’s creatures as well – dog meat consumption also poses significant risks for the general population. The e.coli bacteria and diseases such as rabies have long been associated with this type of meat.

Urge Vietnam’s government to take immediate action and impose a complete ban on dog meat and halt all animal suffering once and for all!

Say no to dog meat in Vietnam and help get it off the menu!
