Harmless dog dragged behind truck for miles gets no justice!

I am appealing to all animal lovers to support this petition. This outrageous incident occurred in Guangdong, China. A helpless dog was tied to the back of a truck and dragged on the streets for miles. It all happened in broad daylight, in front of other drivers and pedestrians. But the perpetrator couldn’t care less, driving around town like nothing was wrong.

What possible explanation could there be for such an outrageous behavior? What did that dog ever do to deserve this cruel fate? Sadly, after being dragged for miles, this innocent dog succumbed to his harrowing injuries and died. What is even more outrageous is the fact that the perpetrator was booked, but only handed a warning for causing a scene in public, before being let go. This is all the punishment this monster is ever going to receive for his truly sick deeds. This is what the life of a dog is worth in China: absolutely nothing.

Sadly, without any animal welfare laws in place, none of the millions of animals that are abused each year in China will get justice and attackers will get to walk scot-free. This must be changed, such behavior is outrageous and inhumane. A society that aspires to be modern and civilized cannot, under any circumstances, allow such actions to unfold.

We, the undersigned, call upon the Beijing government to adopt the much-needed animal rights laws and confer protection to all the animals in China. There is too much abuse going on – these voiceless souls have seen it all, from being boiled alive for their meat, dragged behind cars, trucks or motorbikes, pounded with sticks and shovels or skinned alive for entertainment. Such monstrosities must be stopped as soon as possible!
