Punish cruel woman that repeatedly beat her dog with a bat!

The daunting video of a dog being viciously pounded by an elderly woman has gone viral on social media – up to this point, the footage has been viewed by more than 3.6 million people and all of them are calling for justice. Support this petition and demand mandatory jail time for the heartless perpetrator.

This appalling incident took place in the state of Espirito Santo, in Eastern Brazil. A witness managed to capture the entire scene on camera: the perpetrator, an elderly woman, can be seen hitting a defenseless animal over and over with a large bat. Witnesses tried to pursue to the woman to leave the dog alone, but the attacker is relentless, even tauting her critics several times. The mistreatment goes on for about three minutes – during all this time, the poor animal is howling in distress, begging for mercy. Unfortunately, the woman was immune all the pleas and kept going on and on.

Amid intense pressure from social media and numerous complaints sent, local authorities tracked the woman down and animal cruelty charges have been filed. A video recently posted on social media shows the crowd cheering as the merciless woman is detained and sent to the police station for questioning. 

Unfortunately, Brazil is well known for its corruption and inefficient judicial system. We appreciate the fact that authorities acted in such a swift and timely way, but this woman could very well get away with only a small fine at the end of the day. We simply cannot let this happen.

I am asking everyone to take a moment and sign this petition demanding full prosecution for this vicious lady. The attacker showed no mercy to that dog and, therefore, we believe she should not be spared any mercy in court.

Help ensure that true justice will be served and make sure this woman does not walk away with a slap on the wrist. Not after what she did!

PS. The dog, dubbed Ambrosio, was rescued shortly after the attack and taken to a veterinarian. He survived the attack and has since made a spectacular recovery. Although Nick lost sight in one of his eyes, he has successfully put this abuse behind him and is ready to start enjoying life. Vets who nursed him back to health say it is a miracle he survived.
