Support a complete ban on halal meat in France!

The pictures above show just a small part of the tradition of halal, widely spread in the Islamic world. Animals – anything from goats to cows and chickens – are slashed open while fully alive, in the name of religion and tradition. Animals can only be sacrificed by a Muslim while another person of Muslim descend stands by and prays during this shocking ritual. On certain occasions, animals are sacrificed in broad daylight, with loads of people gathering around and cheering loudly. The video attached to the petition is extremely compelling and paints a good picture of how the halal practice is carried out (please not that the video was not filmed in France)

All Islam countries follow this rule strictly as the practice is deeply embedded in their daily lives. However, with a growing Muslim population all over Western countries, these people have failed to adapt to their new environment and have made it a must to respect their traditions wherever they are. The Muslim community has thus imported the tradition of halal in many parts of Europe and it is most visible in France, the country with the largest Muslim community in Europe.

I am strongly against the suffering of animals in the name of religion. No one has the right to treat animals in this inhumane manner.
