Punish wife of police officer who cut puppy’s ears off with scissors!

The perpetrator has been identified as Brandy Gidden. She is the wife of Rhan Gidden, a well respected Jackson, Mississippi police officer. The pit bull puppy pictured on the left were posted on a Facebook page about community yardsale. The puppy is believed to be between six and eight weeks of age and Ms. Gidden was trying to sell him with his ears chopped off. She also posted a photo of a second dog, who also had ears filled with blood, after being the victim of a home cropping procedure.

According to Sec 18-4 of the City Ordinance Code, cropping the ears of a dog is against the law in Jackson, Mississippi:

“No person will crop a dog’s ears or perform any other minor or major surgery witht the exception of a licensed veterinarian”

Ms. Gidden, who is not a licensed vet, was quick to retract her statements: she argued never owned the two puppies in the photos, claiming they belonged to a friend of a friend. She told a local newspaper that she had never seen those dogs in her life and added she had no idea home cropping was against the law.

However, another person came forward and claimed that Gidden had sold her a dog with cropped ears just recently; the buyer was also made clear that the dog’s ears had been cropped at home.

It is unclear if officer Rhan Gidden had any knowledge of these incidents or was involved in any way in such illegal operations.

Please support my petition to ensure Brandy Gidden is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, in addition to receiving a ban on pet ownership from now on. There is simply no excuse for causing so much pain and suffering to these defenseless puppies. Authorities must promptly investigate and serve justice, because no one should be above the law!
